I don't normally do runway to room posts but there is something about this spring 2011 design by Diane von Furstenberg that reminds me of this gorgeous room by Olivier Gagnère. Orange and purple is such an unusual color combination but in both cases it seems to work. C'est magnafique!

Spring has Sprung at Talbots
>
I've been quietly shopping at Talbots for about a year now. Ever since my mother dragged me into the Shadyside store over Christmas and I realized that they had cute dresses, their petites fit me perfectly, and the prices couldn't be beat! I just received their Spring catalog yesterday and it looks like Julianne Moore is also a fan. I think I might have to head to the store today for that yellow skirt. My days of wearing shorts are over but you young fashionistas need to buy those suede shorts! They are tres chic! Happy Spring!
Don't Call it a Comeback

Those who were not lucky enough to be invited to the presentation of Tom Ford's spring 2011 women's collection can finally see what we missed thanks to Vogue. The ensembles were presented by a coterie of Mr. Ford's friends who included models, singers, actresses and others. Their ages, 22-67, and body types varied from bootylicious Beyonce to lithe Lauren Hutton. That was the first clue that these will be wearable "real clothes for real women."
“I want this to be somewhere a woman knows she can go when she wants a great jacket—not a fake expensive jacket, something that has intrinsic value. I don’t think fashion has to change every five minutes. I’d like these to be clothes you can wear for a long time—ten, 20 years; pass on to your daughter. Why buy vintage when you can open your own closet!”
According to Vogue, "his collection will be small and exclusive, and sold only in his sixteen menswear stores, until next season." The men's stores are so chic, that I don't think that will be a problem. I also hope that he hasn't given up making movies now that he's back to creating fashion. How about A Single Woman this time?

Color My World
>
The biggest trend on the Spring/Summer 2011 runways was color. Not just a little color but bright, bold, beautiful hues that will shake up your world. After this brutal winter, I can't think of anything I want to wear more than cheerful colors. There are many interior designers who embrace color in their work like Jamie Drake (above), Kelly Wearstler and Miles Redd but I wonder if others will start to see the light. Enjoy!
